A new report from Football Italian finds that, while some fans might love the comfort of their air conditioner, others might prefer to be insulated.
The company’s latest research shows that, for those with a preference for air conditioning units, the cheapest and best option might be an air conditioned mattress.
“For the first time, the data revealed that the cheapest, most reliable and most energy efficient way to save money in the most economical way is to buy a heated mattress,” said Stefano Capone, Football Italians Director of Sales.
“We found that the average home with a home-based air conditioning unit will save €300 per year.
This is a savings of €5,000 per year on electricity and heating.”
It also revealed that air conditioners can be used as cooling devices for homes with windows open and they can be connected to power sockets or solar panels.
“The best thing about a mattress is that you can sleep on it all the time,” said Mario Soto, an Italian expert on homes.
“If you have a nice air-conditioner, then you don’t need to worry about having to open your windows, as the room temperature can stay the same all the day.”
In this scenario, you have to find a mattress with an extra space to move around, as it is quite comfortable.
“However, for the other types of insulation, such as those used in home furnaces, the best option may be to invest in an air-dryer.
The research also found that many Italian households are still using heat lamps, but that most have switched to air condition and have switched off the lamps.
In the same report, the company also found the number of electricity bills for electricity in Italy rose by 17% in 2016, and the total amount of electricity consumption for Italy has risen by 8% in the last 10 years.
